This week's words are:
Girlfriend
Imagined
Slight
As soon as I read the prompt for this week, I imagined that these words are bred from a sense of anxiety guys must have over Valentine's Day, which just to remind all of the procrastinators out there, is tomorrow. Good luck with that.
One of my girlfriends from high school (meaning she is a friend that is also female, and not the other kind, to clarify for those who may otherwise confuse the two), Onyznite, said she is going back to Wyoming, and let me know that if the weather permits her to make it up to the pass, she would take pictures. I told her that would be great, weather permitting, but in any case I just wanted to see some snow. However, someone must have heard my plea, because these are the sights I woke to this morning:
The mini-muses are thrilled, though the sun is peeking in and out, so I imagine this will be fleeting, as it always is. What crazy weather we are having, Grandma. Last week it was dodging tornadoes, this week we have snow. Who would have thought? But, there's no such thing as Global Warming, right? Yeah. Right. I think that sentiment might be just a slight bit of denial.
So while everyone else is stressing about whether or not they should feed the floral industry and Hallmark's profit margins today, and anxiously waiting to find out if their partner took the hint to get them that incredibly expensive gift this year, I will be making home made cards with my children, enjoying the savory aroma of Mr. Muse's home made raviolis, while anticipating putting the children to bed a little bit early. There is something to be said for simplicity.
I leave you with the sentiment I learned in my own spiritual walk... "He who is content with little, possesses much." In other words, having gratitude and peace for what you already have, can sometimes be the greatest possession of all.
